Right...starting to get my head around this properly now. I am planning on paying a token payment to Virgin/MBNA this month, and writing to them. I don't have the giro slip so I was planning to send the payment via my internet banking - SC said this was ok. I'm using their template letter to inform virgin/mbna of my involvement with SC which reads:
'Dear Sir/Madam
I have received advice from StepCHange Debt Charity to help me solve my debt problem.
I am in financial difficultiea and not able to meet my normal monthly payments.
StepChange Debt Charity is setting up a Debt Management Plan for me and they will send you an offer of payment along with a copy of my budget and a list of creditors.
I autorise you to disclose my account details to StepChange Debt Charity and you can contact them on XXXXX XXX XXX
Yours faihtfully'
There's not any mention on there of me having made a token payment of £1 this month, but there's space to write a line or two underneath - should I just handwrite it in the space? Should I sign it? I have just printed it off and handwritten the info in, but I've seen some people saying that your sign off should be typed, rather than signed...any reason for this? Can I just write my name, rather than sign my signature?
Thanks for all your help so far on these boards

Also, do I just send my letter to the 'General Correspondence' address?LBM - 12th August 2013September GC £0/£100 :cool:0

Did somebody type the letter for you? If you did it yourself, you could just re-type it rather than handwrite on it.
General correspondence address should be fine as they'll pass it onto the right person
The main reason for typing your name rather than signing is so that the companies can't lift your signature off the letter and place it onto some kind of falsified agreement. What will your verse be?

Thanks. That makes sense regarding the signature lifting. I'll retype it I think - will look betterLBM - 12th August 2013September GC £0/£100 :cool:0
