Legal owner/Registered keeper

As I am going to be out of country for a while I want to put my daughter down as registered keeper and the car insurance in her name. How do I prove, if required, that I am the legal owner of the car?

You can't really unless you get your daughter to sign something in writing.

The whole registered keeper thing is a bit of a red herring when it comes to ownership. The law states that being RK doesn't prove ownership yet the authorities will treat it as such along with debt collectors etc. It's one of those "It works for us how we want it when convenient" type policies.

Debt collectors cant take property without a court order, and when in court the assets can be seperated.

The RK is not necessarily the legal owner, as has been said. so this would be the point at which it is proved.
