My local tyre place beats the online prices for my tyres.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Just used Asda Tyres. You order online, they deliver to a garage in your area (if you have one that Asda deal with), then you pay the garage on the day.
Very convenient, a good price, and they had an extensive choice.0 -
I used a company called Event Tyres for my last new set, they came to my house fitted the new tyres nice and quick, no hassle and great prices.

I won't use Tyre-Shopper again.
Price was great but they insisted on using National Tyres as the fitting centre who clearly didn't want to do the work. I had no end of trouble with them trying to get mine fitted, they came up with excuse after excuse about why they wouldn't fit them.
Another forum I am part of claimed to know a fitter in one. they only make £15 per tyre, vastly less than they make by supplying and fitting their own.
It took them over two and a half hours to change four tyres on my car, and mine was the only one in the workshop with four mechanics working.
They insist on National as Tyre-Shopper is National- just their online trading name, it's all the same company. If you are dissatisfied, and it sounds like you have every reason to be so, then I would contact Tyre-Shopper/National and raise my concern with them. Good luck.0 -
Ordered my last set from Pneus Online, will get a mate to fit them when I get round to it.0

Im looking for tyres just now too - so researched the online guys.
Have used Blackcircles.com before but I haven't needed tyres for a while due to car change.
Have to say that with Blackcircles.com offering Tesco Clubcard Points then it is hard to see past them. Even if the local guys match Blackcircles then they won't undercut them by the same amount of the clubcard points that i'm getting - especially as i use the points for holidays.
Or am I missing something?0 -
So you sat and waited 2 and a half hours or did you leave car there and went away? If so, that's where you went wrong. Should have went in and waited for them to do it there and then. If you leave car there then they just forget about it until last minute.0

I watched it go in, go up on the ramp and the first wheel come off.
Mine was the only car there so I went off for a browse in a nearby Halfords.
To be fair, I am in no doubt they were simply taking the preverbial as I mentioned earlier, they simply didn't want to do the work.
The whole job was delayed two days by the garage to start with so my booking agreement with Tyre-Shopper was of no use.
It hassle centered around me swapping out all four Run Flats for four normal tyres.
There are no issues at all in swapping them all. There is if you attempt to mix but if it is all out, all in there is no problem.
They insisted on seeing a letter from my Insurers,
They then refused to use the PC in reception (which was already on Google) to help find the contact details for my Insurers (there was no 3G signal). I had to walk up the street waving my phone about to get a signal.
Once I had the number I went back and called the Insurers who were fine (so long as they are all being swapped) and didn't even mark it as a modification.
The garage wouldn't take my word so my Insurers spoke to them on my phone.
He still refused without written authorisation but did buckle after we all got stroppy about it.
I was annoyed having already paid for fitting but them refusing, I ended up telling them to put the new tyres in the car and I will find another garage to fit them (and pay again).
They had the last laugh I suppose by dragging it out for the entire afternoon.
My feedback also mentioned underinflating every tyre (21 front 26 rear but they should be 29 front 34 rear)0
