i always used lidl's nappies with my children. i found them far superior to the branded ones. wipes ive always used huggies, but thats my preference, wipes are now £1 or less a pack. went down so much in price! formula is expensive but no where to cut back here. Toys, i wouldnt buy much, mines had far too much toys and they never even got looked at, even now they are 4 and 6 its the same! i used to always buy in the next sale too and buy some outfits in the next size up aswell. shoes were/are clarks, always found their footwear good and any problems with loose stitching etc are exchanged for a new pair. eldest wouldnt eat anything home made and was all jars, will eat anything now tho and youngest wasnt as fussy and ate what we had. with calpol and nurofen, always buy cheaper non branded stuff. infant paracetamol and brufen and about £1 a bottle in b&m, poundland etc and its works the same. i had a large fancy highchair with eldest but it quickly got in the way and they both had lindam booster seats that strapped onto chairs and had a tray too, much better and easier to clean! gumtree is a good place if you are looking to buy/sell clothes or toys.

when your baby starts on food, purees are simple to make, i used a hand blender and it was invaluable.

not sure how much i spent per week but its as expensive as you make it

No need to pur!e food or buy jars. Read up on baby led weaning.
Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman
  • If you include absolutely everything (by which I mean all equipment, extra food, extra electricity usage etc.), my eldest cost around £100/month in the first year but that wasn't evenly spread as some was large purchases such as carseats etc. I imagine yours will be more expensive though if you are buying nappies/wipes all the time and also using formula. It just depends on what you want/need.
  • my first LO must of cost a fortune!
    i didnt breastfeed
i used disposable nappies and wipes
