Student banking and insurance for Denmark

Hello everyone,

does anyone have experience of their student son or daughter going to uni in Denmark please? our son is going soon and I am looking for advice on cheapest way of transferring money from my UK bank account to local Danish bank and also where to get posessions insurance for when he is in student accomodation or out and about, and any other tips of a financial nature.

Cheapest transfer method will be to use a currency broker, such as fx.com (not a personal recommendation as I've never used them or any other broker, but often mentioned on the forum). It will almost certainly be cheaper to make the transfers large and infrequent, for example once at the beginning of each term, rather than doing it every week.
