Depends on the make and size of boiler you're installing. How many rads?
I had a new boiler installed for £3000 by British Gas - yes it was expensive but needed doing as emergency.
I would speak to BG, and a couple of independent fitters and compare costs.
Boiler will be anything from £500-£850 and rads - £30plus, then you also have all the pipework, water and gas connections etc.0 -
I certainly wouldn't consider an Ideal!
Since you don't tell us what is CH/DHW system is currently installed (if anything), it's impossible to comment. What sort of boiler have you had a quote for (combi or conventional), and is this suitable for the property? How many rads? What controls? Is there already a gas supply to the property? No free lunch, and no free laptop

Sounds a good price to me, probably too cheap if it includes VAT!0

I moved into my new house just over 2 yrs ago, and it came with a new Ideal combi-boiler. Since day 1 it has been unreliable and has 'broken down' 12 times!
It obviously has a common 'fault' as several other people who live nearby has the same problem over & over again, and Ideal won't admit to there being a problem.
In this case it's the flame detector.
When you turn on the water/heating the flame detector is supposed to detect a flame & then send a signal to the boiler to ignite the burners. However, the flame detector becomes 'sooted' so doesn't send the correct signal, so the burners don't light & then the boiler shuts down, showing error codes F1/L1.
Nine times whilst in warranty Ideal came out to repair it. But at the end of the 2 yr warranty they just now totally ignore my calls & emails!
I now have cover by e-on & each time they come out when it yet again fails I have to tell them what the problem is & how to correct it! (remove the flame detector (2 alan key bolts) & clean the carbon type rod with wire wool). It will then be ok again for 2-3 months, when it has to be done all over again!
And each time it's the inconvenience of the boiler failing as you tun the shower on etc & you keep having to go to the boiler to re-set it, until it fires up. And each time an engineer comes out they have the bath tap on full pelt, wasting lots of water & i'm on a water meter!
I am sure that if you buy an Ideal boiler, you'll regret it! Pay a little more & get a better one!0 -
We are having a Worcester 28 (Compact) and 7 Rads. This includes taking out all the current system for £4100.Oxfordmark

are you sure a house built in the 1300's doesn't already have a Roman Hypocaust
