67p?

in Credit cards
Just bought two identical items online.
I've used this company before (a couple of weeks ago), when I bought one of the same article.
This time, however, a second payment, of 67p, has been taken
The entry reads:-
***************** Card purchase
PAYPAL ***********,LUX
Original Amount : -$1.00
What is it all about, and will I get this back at some point?

If you don't owe the money cancel there right to take any money with your card provider.0

I do owe the money for the items I ordered.
Not sure about the 67p.
Could it be some sort of PAYPAL processing fee?0 -
it could be a holding amount, i purchased two items recently through paypal from a us company and there was an extra 33p pending which once the payments went trhough completly it dropped off0

Most likely, due to the fees PayPal charge some retailers/sellers pass on the charge to the consumer.Bedsit_Bob wrote: »I do owe the money for the items I ordered.

I've found out what it is.
Seems I've signed up to PAYPAL, and the $1 is a test (called a "provision") to determine if the card is real.
Seems no money actually gets paid, as the $1 is never called for by PAYPAL.

Other companies do the same thing, like Tesco, every time i do an online grocery shop they first take £2 from the CC. Then when the food arrives they take the actual amount the shopping costs and the £2 disappears from my CC account.0

The company seems to have charged you via paypal. When you use a card for the first time with paypal, it does a test authorisation of £1 which gets removed in about 2 weeks. If you bought from the US, it will be $1, which appears to be 67p at the paypal rate.0
