Nice area to stay when visiting Wembley Stadium

Later in the year we are going to Wembley but we don't want to stay in London proper we want a place just outside with a villagey feel, with direct links into any of the mainline stations where we can connect with the underground for Wembley.

We would be happy with a 40 min train journey but preferably less.

Any ideas?

Looking for quaint, old pubs, riverside walks, village green, artisan shops. We prefer to stay at Inns or small hotels rather than chain hotels.

Somewhere up the Chiltern Rail line would probably suit you ..... loads of nice places up through Buckinghamshire. Access to Wembley Stadium station is very quick and easy.

Can you give me some details of particular places that might fit the bill?

If you have alook at the Chiltern line that goes into Wembley Stadium there are some places near the stations that may suit you. Some of the areas near the station are orginally villages that have expanded over the years, but if you look at areas a short drive from stations you may get the smaller village that you are looking for.

For example High Wycombe is on the direct train route to the Stadium and a 10 minute drive away is West wycombe village.
