Firstly your electric is not high, I would say just over £21 per month is on the low side.
However for summer your gas seems a little high, it was cold here in May and our CH did not go off until early June. If you had the CH on during this period it would account for the higher usage. When just heating water and a gas hob we use about £10 per month.
But to reiterate what the others have said do not base your DD on those 2 months, otherwise you will certainly end up with a large debit balance after the winter period.
I didn't think the elect is high, I think it ties in with what the vendor said it would be.
We don't mind paying say £80pm combined but £125pm is way too much.0 -

I think the point everyone is trying to make is that you can't possibly know that £80pm is enough. You have no valid reference points. Scottish Power are trying to ensure your account balance is at £0 or as close as possible in the Spring. You have virtually no time now to put the accounts in credit before the cold weather arrives. October, just 6 weeks from now, was very much a heating month last year with sharp frosts nightly for much of October. This year may well be the same, in which case your £80 won't go very far at all i'm afraid.0 -

You may well not mind paying £80pm, but that will nowhere near cover you in the winter. Would you rather the energy company set your DD low, and then chase you for a debt next summer, with all the hassle that entails?0 -
OK I get the idea now. Thanks!!0

I'm not sure that you do!
You should be reading your meters regularly and calculating your actual usage based on the kWh unit cost yourself.
And how do you come to the conclusion that I don't?
I have lived in the property for 3 months and have taken readings 3 times.
When I said I get it now, I meant just that.0
