Just got our first DVLA tax reminder (v211)

Our car has been sorn for the last 4 years and we've always done it in a timely manner when they send through the reminder.
Now luckily this year I remembered about it and posted it but they appear to have not received it (monkeys in the mail room I presume??). By strange coincidence the DVLA did not send a reminder either. Anyway DVLA have wasted no time in realising they're onto an opportunity and clearly not processed it. Why didn't I do it online? I wasn't able to use the computer at that time.
Today we get a nice V211 letter turn up saying 'Last Chance' and a load of waffle about the possible consequences etc.
Well I've done it online but just had a thought.. maybe they'll now use that to claim that we've admitted to not SORN'ing previously and go on their crusade for queen and country for £80?
I'm assuming a few of you have been in this situation so figured you might share your experiences?
Tia..
