  • Ice has a greater volume than the same mass (weight) of water. It is the only substance known that occupies more space as a solid than as a liquid. I can explain why, but unless you're a real old nerd like me, it will be boring. :)

My husband laughed when he saw my pint of water on the side and said of course... it decreases! He told me to ask him if I need any more help with simple things, lmao.

    I won, I won, I won!
The answer to yesterday’s #BackTuSchool quiz was ‘stay the same’! The last chance to win a £100 Sainsbury's voucher is coming at 10am.

  • Just goes to prove you don't often get marketing people with science knowledge.............. Wouldn't waste my time arguing with them though, same with a lot of the beauty 'tips' I read from magazine marketeers - utter rubbish lots of them - the worst 'flick your eyes in talcum powder before applying mascara' !!!!!!!! Sorry shouldn't rant here, I'm off to give myself a slap
  • Their answer from yesterday's question is incorrect. I've informed them on twitter, but any ideas who I should contact?

You could Tweet them or look on Their website for contact details.

But I believe the answer is right with stays the same.

When I did Alevel Environmental Science, 2 years ago; I learnt that when sea ice melts, the sea level will stay the same, but land ice will increase the sea level as the volume of the amount of water is increasing, as it is being added :)
In 2015 I WILL win; An ITV comp, The Gadget Show, an iPhone (or any smart phone, I'd be happy), a watch and an Xbox one!
