Don't know what to do!

I am currently on smp and receiving child benefit. We have applied for WTC and CTC but we were waiting to be awarded.

My partner was dismissed from his job on 9/8. He went to the job centre and they told him to apply online for JSA, well he's now been offered a job that's only 16 hours. He's accepted it but now I don't know what to do!
Can we claim anything apart from CB?
Tried asking CAB what are options were but was told they couldn't advise us till our next appointment (after 9th September)

Can anyone give me some advice or a phone number where i can get some advice?

Thank you

16 hours means no WTC, you can still get CTC, do you rent or own your home?

As the OP is on SMP she is still treated as being in employment. Therefore as long as they are doing 24 hrs between them with one doing at least 16 hrs then they are eligible for working and child tax credits.

OP, you may also be eligible for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support (forms from local council)
