Hi,
I have a number of email accounts (gmail, gawab, msn), can anyone recommend a program that would let me check all these accounts, rather than me having to go to all the individual websites.

Hi there,
Yes - Outlook! You can either use the one that comes with Windows (Outlook Express), or the full Outlook that comes as part of Mifcrosoft Office.
You will need the POP3 and SMTP settings for each account (normally found in the FAQ section of each account site) to setup Outlook. Some will even let you download a file that does it automatically.
Hope this helps.0 -
Try an absolute mint of a program (freeware) called Pop Peeper, this will do the trick I'm sure. Can anyone explain to me how to put a signature here?

You might end up regretting Outlook as your choice when it corrupts itself, or loses your entire email database. A better option might be something such as Thunderbird http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/as it keeps all your emails as .txt files under C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data so is easy to locate and backup as opposed to Microsofts proprietary format of burying your data in the registry under some random key.
As to your question, the answers here:

HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -

Just to be clear though, I found Outlook Express to be rubbish but I currently use Outlook for my email which I find extremely useful, after originally using Thunderbird. Outlook and Outlook Express are two very different programs."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Good point, yes Outlook (not to be confused with Outlook Express) stores your data as .pst files. The advice here might also be useful for when you lose track of your .pst files: http://www.mailnavigator.com/reading_ms_outlook_pst_files.html

Although Outlook maybe over the top if you're only after a pure pop3 email client. Also it isn't free, though it is possible to get it bundled with a pda etc."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Have entered the settings and get this error:
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'Gawab', Server: 'gawab.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
Any ideas why?0 -
Found this in the knowledge base:
How can I set up my Gawab.com account to work with POP/SMTP?
To use our POP/SMTP service all what you need is the following settings:
1) Gawab incoming mail server (POP) is: pop.gawab.com
2) Gawab outgoing mail server (SMTP) is: smtp.gawab.com
3) Your username on Outlook should be your complete email address
4) Gawab.com outgoing mail server requires authentication, you can check this option from "Properties" window of your Gawab account after adding it to Outlook. Go to Tools Accounts Select your account Properties Servers and check the option: "Outgoing server requires authentication". and check the option: "secure TSL if available".0 -

Have those settings but still have the same error message.0
