"Day one: Morning arrival at Lisbon. Transfer from Lisbon airport. Visit several areas and a variety of habitats within the Tagus Estuary NR, including the Barroca d’Alva rice fields and pastures, the salt pans of Atalaya, Ribeira das Enguias and Samouco and the inter-tidal mudflats and salt marshes of Hortas. Overnight at Hotel do Sado in Set!bal.

Day two: Visit further sites in the Tagus Estuary NR, including the pastures of Ponta da Erva and the cork oak woodlands of Pancas. Visit the Sado Estuary NR, including some of the north bank sites in this protected area: Mourisca, Gâmbia and Zambujal (several habitats including reedbeds and pine woodlands). Overnight at Hotel do Sado.

Day three: Travel to the Alentejo region. Visit the great Castro Verde rolling plains. Overnight at Hotel Museu in M!rtola.

Day four: Visit the bluffs and hills associated with the Guadiana Valley Nature Park, including the M!rtola, Mina de São Domingos and Alcaria Ruiva areas. Overnight at Hotel Museu.

Day five: Travel to Lisbon, on the way visiting Comporta and Carrasqueira on the south bank of the Sado Estuary NR. Cross the River Sado by ferry, with a good chance of seeing small pods of Bottle-nosed Dolphins. Transfer to Lisbon airport for return flight."
