Looking at reviews for solar/battery PIR lights I've found that water seems to get into the batteries all too often and that they then fail.
If you can recommend any lights which don't fill with water OR have any tips on waterproofing them please post !
Thanks in advance

Solar seems to be an attractive proposition but in my experience solar PIR lights are not very good.
If you want to be able to deter intruders or actually see anything recommend that you install a 240v 120w halogen fitting.Forgotten but not gone.0 -

Avoid, none are merchantable quality. they all leak, instruction inside packing is to only fit them in sheltered locations. IE out of the rain. You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0 -
I have used the Evo 15 Solar light for a year and was quite happy. Now the battery seems to have gone. Where on earth can you get a replacement? It needs to be a triangular shape, 3 batteries together, Ni-MH AAA750mAh 3.6V.
Have surfed the web for over an hour, nowhere is this to be seen. Only 3 batteries in a row, which would not fit.
So it seems that they are not green after all, since I need to buy a new unit and throw away the old one.0 -

Can you post a photo of the pack? Does it have leads?
If you know how to solder, you can purchase some AAA tagged batteries from auction sites and make the battery pack yourself. You can use higher capacity ones e.g. 1000mAh.If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!
