How difficult is it to get a viewing?!! Are your EAs more accomodating?

we never had a problem with viewings , one small family run local EA would give us the keys if the house was empty and were very flexible , sometimes closing the office for an hour to take us to viewings0

However I once had a viewing cancel on me that day. Having already made the journey to the area I rang a different EA.
It's up for sale through 1 EA, yet you call another EA & they're still able to show you around? How, when it's not even through them?
Not only that, but we lost out on a house recently because we'd contacted an EA for a viewing (WE chose THEM!), along the line it got sold, so we went to another EA who wouldn't touch us as we'd initially gone to the first EA who introduced us to the house. All political nonsense IMO.0 -
OP, can your partner do the initial viewings? I do all the first viewings on properties, my husband comes along on second viewings when I have seen and eliminated all the dross. perhaps that would help?
I think you can rant all you like but if home are selling that quickly (you say they go before you can get a second viewing) then why do the EAs need to change?
As a seller I have always done the viewings and have had them any time convenient to the buyer 7am through till 10 pm, any day! have as old all my houses in a short period.
you need to work out how to play the current system not rant about it. make friends with a few EAs.0 -

I didn't though.

Why do EAs not suggest this? Maybe that is the way it goes & you have to ask if the seller will show you round themselves, i don't know. All i'm getting from EAs is an outright no though. No suggestion of sellers doing the showing.
Seriously though, when are we ever going to get a situation where someone doesn't rant about something? It's what we all do.
Your right it's good to rant and some time it focuses are thoughts, maybe next time you will say 'can the vendor show the house to me' or let your partner go first.
good luck
I really wasn't joking about making friends with EAs, you will always get to hear about a property first if you can!0 -
I think I'm really lucky to live in Scotland. In Edinburgh it's very common for places to do an open Sunday afternoon viewing from 2-4pm. Not all places do this but if they don't they are generally very happy to do Sunday viewings. It's probably easier to get evening viewings than daytime but agents are general flexible and we've been getting viewings set up within a couple of days usually. The estate agents are happy to communicate by e-mail and usually get back to me within a few hours. They don't always know a huge amount about the property but as the homebuyers report is usually available online a lot of questions are answered by that. We're still struggling to find somewhere but it's not the fault of the EA! I find it weird to hear stories of obstructive agents etc - it just isn't like this here.Earn £2015 in 2015: £13:33/20150
