New Student : What benefits are there?

Hi all,
Firstly please accept my apologies if this is the wrong forum to post this in!
I have just become a student, due to start college tomorrow and wondering if someone could advise what benefits I can get from my student card?
Current situation - Full mortgage, usual bills on a monthly basis, car/fuel and partner who will be bringing in most of the income.
I know I will get student discounts in shops etc. but is there anything else I can take advantage off?
Any help/advice would be most welcome!

You can get discounts on some computing products by using the internet at your place of study, e.g. laptops and some software.
Depending on your household income you may receive help towards paying for glasses and dental treatment.
If you use the trains you can get a student rail card, or if you use national express coaches you can get a card under the same terms as a young persons card as you are a student. I don't know if its changed but I know a few years ago if you were a student and over 25 you had to get your place of study to stamp your application form to prove you were a student.
Ah, I don't know if this works at every McDonalds, my son is at university and if he shows his student card he gets a free cheese burger or mcflurry when he orders a value meal. He thinks this is amazing.0 -

Thank you for the tips! Dental and glasses will certainly come in very useful!

You can apply for a council tax reduction, as you are a full time student you do not need to pay it! https://www.gov.uk/council-tax/full-time-students0
