Hi, Talk Talk seem to offer a great package for TV, phone & Broadband but when I tried to switch from Sky they say they can't offer the same deal and you lose your existing phone number because Sky refuse to give them the MAC code. Any ideas ?

Sky can't "refuse" to give them the code.0

No, it's because you can't do a direct LLU transfer from Sky LLU to TT LLU. TT would only be able to achieve this by provisioning a new line, which costs them.
Nothing to do with a MAC.
The same issue will arise with any attempt to do an LLU to LLU transfer. Ironically (as far as you are concerned) the few successful reports of it being achieved are by customers inbound to Sky.
Quite why you'd want to move Sky LLU to TT defeats me though. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
That happened to me when I switched from Sky to TalkTalk. Sky couldn't offer a matching deal and I lost my phone number. Such an annoying way of doing things but such is life. A TT Live Chat rep did tell me that keeping Sky phone numbers would come in the future - obviously of no use to me but anyone thinking of making the switch might want to hold off for a bit.0

But it is is not any failing of Sky. The numbers don't belong to the provider or to the customer. The switch system does not easily allow for LLU to LLU transfers. Some providers who understand the system can do it, but that certainly does not include TalkTalk CS drones, who are merely script readers. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Pay peanuts...............Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Talk talk are not exactly refusing sky customers are they ?
As you say they just can't offer the same deal as sky.
If as you say that sky refuse to give Talk Talk the MAC code, then that is not Talk Talks faultOwing on CC £00.00 :j
