Affordable places to eat in London

I hope this is the right place to post.
Basically I am taking my friend to London for her birthday. She's never done the Tourist things so I am taking her to the London Eye etc
However I want to take her to a nice place to eat.
My budget isn't very big as I'll be paying for the tourist attractions for her and myself.
Is there anywhere I can take her that's around £50 for both of us?
Thanks

If you're travelling in by train there are a number of 2-4-1 food offers available, including afternoon tea

You don't say what day you are going, but note that not all are available at weekends though0 -
Not sure where you're looking for but if it helps The London standard have offers on set menus at some nice restuarants at the moment starting from just £10pp - there are some that include a glass of wine too.
List here of all the offers http://www.standard.co.uk/staticpage/dine/0 -
What sort of meal do you want...something posh or something casual?
Whenever we are in London we love the area around Borough market and indeed the market itself as its great for lunch on the go...
A couple of tube stops from the eye...or a walk along the river past the tate etc....
In the early evening we then like to head towards vapiano which is a great pizza/pasta place in a very informal setting. I believe there are 2 in London but we normally head for the one near the Globe they have a website too I believe which you could google
The globe is also very nice especially if you eat from the specials or set menu, and can eat earlier in the eveningbut you might need to book early as they do get very busy...but the views from the window tables are very good!frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -
Check the Michelin places too. They are doing amazing lunch and early evening deals.0

Hi
I had a really nice meal here for a friend's birthday and used this menu

They do other menu's but the food and ambiance was good and there is one by the river and one in the West End
Very busy so you need to book

Also have you thought about afternoon tea in a posh hotel. Plenty of offers around for 2 people?

Also look on buyagift for vouchers and I think that there is a 20% off voucher lurking somewhere0 -
London isn't as expensive as people may think. There are plenty of choices so it's competitive.
I live in London so can recommend a good few places but first, what kinda cuisine are you looking for?0 -
You could try Bistro. They have at least two or three different venues, but the one I go to is on Beak Street in Soho. It's £11 (or £12, I forget) each for three courses. The food is gloriously 70s (prawn cocktails in shells; deep-fried brie, etc) but the portions are generous, the staff lovely and the drinks inexpensive. You could easily have a lovely dinner there with wine and still have change from £50, even after a good tip.Hey you gender nectar;

https://www.toptable.co.uk is quite handy and you can select £30 and under or £20 and under deals0
