New kitchen (Northern Ireland)

Hi
we're just starting to look at sourcing a new kitchen for our house. We have a decent budget but it's a big space so I know there will be compromises to be made. We're looking for mid-range, modern (high gloss) doors, granite worksurfaces, vinyl flooring and mid-range appliances.
So, given that we are based in Belfast, are there any tips for getting the most out of our money? Luckily we know a very good fitter so am potentially considering sourcing the doors and managing the work ourselves. Is this worth doing? Are there any suppliers anyone can recommend?
thanks in advance
TM

Look in shearers at Peters Hill. V good kitchens.... And designs. They source all doors and carcasses at big DIY place in Dargan JHC Hardware.... So could save money by looking there.2014 reach my best.0
