Not really a pair but I picked up a set of Logitech Z5300 5.1 surround speakers used from fleabay for about £40, in remarkably good condition.
They're excellent speakers I have some already I wanted a 2nd set for my other PC.Blessed are the geeks, for they shall inherit the Internet.0 -

I got these when my old speakers died & so far I'm really impressed. Sound great for music but haven't watched (listened) to any films with them yet. Can use them to listen via Bluetooth from my phone without the pc on which can be handy.Same !!!!!! ~ Different Day :silenced:0 -
Harman Kardon Soundsticks III
On offer at £90 at PCworld
M-Audio Studiophile AV30 Version II Monitor System
Creative GigaWorks T20 Series II
Edit: SoundScience QSB could be another good choice for PC speaker0 -
I've got an old Altec Lansing 221 (2.1) and they have had a hard life and still work well.
Have a look at these:-

Looks as the might be £50 or cheaper elsewhere though.0 -
Money saving tip - there's no such thing as 'computer speakers' - they're just speakers with an amp built in usually, and generally small.
If you've got an old stereo lying around and it has phono or aux inputs it'll sound great. Old AV amps are great too - they go out of date so quickly and you can use optical or coax for proper surround sound.0 -

Funny you should say that. I use my mp3/phone speaker dock for plugging into my laptop, albeit had to get a separate double ended 3.5mm jack lead, but it works great. Much prefer that to the speakers I had with my desktop.0
