Unable to remove Franke filter cartridge?

We have one of those Franke filterflow gadgets with the filter cartridge in a metal cylinder. It has a bayonet fitting and the idea is you twist it a few mm and drop it out.
The only problem is that it is physically impossible to shift it even 1mm. I have used every ounce of my average bloke strength and the thing wil not budge. I'm concerned that if I apply any more force I will rip it out and damage the kitchen.
the instructions are useless - they just say "twist". Which I have and can't. Does anyone else have one?
Otherwise I am looking at calling out a plumber. I'm not happy at the idea of paying £50 for that every time the cylinder needs changing.

If you have isolated the water supply and opened the tap to drain any remaining water in the filter cannister, that will create a vacuum which makes it difficult to untwist and remove the cannister.
Let some water in, turn off the isolation valve. Drain off a little water through the tap. Then try unscrewing the cannister. You may have to do this a few times, but it should easily untwist.
Be prepared for a little water to drip when you remove the cannister. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!
