I've got a "normal" website but I'd like an FTP site that will allow clients to download sound files that I can then collect to type up.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
Thanks

As you have your own site would it not be more appropriate to just create a submission form or simple email for them to use?0

I use my own web space. You have to find out the information from your own ISP on what settings you need. Example IP address/password/user name/port number.
Then you need a FTP program such as FlashFXP to upload files too
No longer a user, goodbye folks. PLEASE delete my account. Thank you0 -
The problem I have is that when we (hopefully) move to Australia I'll be using an fsmail email address until get sorted with a new ISP over there, which only has a certain amount of space for new emails. I dont want it to get full up then clients have problems sending me emails, so thought if I could set up an FTP site they could just download the files for me to collect later.
I am guessing then that I wont be able to do that, since I wont have an ISP set up until we move into rented accommodation?
Hope I am making sense?0 -
It really depends on your needs. I never use ISP-related e-mail and webspace facilities (too much dependency), and always opt for third-party independent solutions. Again, the solution depends on your willingness to spend money. You may want to take a look here (based in Australia, by the way), and decide if it's something that suits your needs.0

why not set up a few gmail addresses or something, whilst not the best solution and not garuanteed at least you get 1gb of space to email to....if you get more than 1gb of mp3s then it would be a bit of a pain to download emails??
how much space do you need, how long for? if your reluctant to say pm me and i may be able to help out0 -

I don't know if this will be any help to you Click Here scroll down the page to Section 16: & look for item p.279 "Allowing visitors to upload files" click on the blue links to open the pages in a new window by right clicking on the page & selecting view source will show you how to achieve what you want simply.0

in regards to this, some servers will not allow this, and others will have a max file size upload which can be changed so it may not be poss for any file to be uploaded...all up to the server admin team0
