    If battery drain is an issue , turn the phone to aeroplane mode

    Airplane mode = GPS turned off, as with all other 'radios'

    I use endomondo on my phone and ive just bought a sigma bc509, for the princely sum of 5 pounds in the local bike shops clearance range and imho its a canny result
