Next installment - Bike Computer... which to get?

So, I now have my bike
The next installment I want to make is a bike computer
I've had one in the past for my last bike, a SunDing Wireless cheapo from eBay. It was great while it worked, but after about 6 months of not using it, it doesnt want to come back to life (The unit works, but doesnt pick up signal from the magnet grrr!)
I don't want to spend a great deal, I only really need basic stuff on it
I used EndoMondo on my phone to track my rides, so the computer just needs to give me live info really
Any suggestions? Wired or Wireless?

Knog NERD wireless, or a Catete velo.0

You can get a quite modestly priced Raleigh wired one, that I got a while ago and seems entirely reliable for seven to nine quid.
Here's the model, I have, though I got a grey one from another seller:

Can you not get the live info on your phone as well ?
you can usually get brackets to attach a phone to the handlebars0 -

I've got a basic Wireless Cateye one.
It was approx. £25 about 3 years ago.
Measures - speed, trip distance, average speed, total distance.
Worked great with no issues0 -
Wired just because I had a wireless react funnily with my flashing lights - clocked me at 300+ mph once!0

Ain't Aldi doing some really cheap wireless computers at the mo?
My recent purchase was a Knog NERD 5, but this was largely down to needing something that would stay in place and not snap off the first time I hit the trails on my MTB. Just about every other brand had bad write-ups about them falling off their mounts.
The NERD can drive you nuts though, the speed numbers have an animated scrolling thing, so it can take a few attempts to catch the display when it's not half way through scrolling.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Aldi/Lidl havent got an event right now but depending on the store may have some still in stock.
Mount - I use a Bontrager Trip 2, it was £25 but has never come off.0 -

pretty sure there is.
i know you can also get maps and route planners for cycling on smart phones that you can use.
personally i just use the Garmin Edge which does it all0 -
There are very many android bike gps apps that show realtime info and have mapping. Some are free and do the basic job, the best are paid for. The only problem with them is that you are restricted by your phone's battery life where as dedicated bike computers have battery lives varying from many months (wired) to as low as 15 hours (Garmin / Bryton etc full bells and whistle mapping etc).
Just search the android apps for bicycle gps.Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0
