Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 18th August. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning All
Thanks for all your support.
Up early again this morning to clean yet again. As everything had been taken out of all the drawers and cupboards they felt unclean so everything has been washed, it would rain though so the TD has been doing overtime.
Had to wait till Friday for fingerprints to be taken but at least that has now been done and I can keep cleaning.
DDs laptop and kindle has gone along with only gold jewellery. The unfortunate thing is that most of the gold was my mums (wedding rings, etc) and items that late OH bought for DD when he went away on his travels. She is devastated as you can imagine. All the silver is still there, they looked through every bag and purse obviously looking for money too. They must have been here for ages.
One consolation is that we were not alone, 4 or 5 properties were targetted the same day, all distinctive stand alone houses. Their downfall could be getting in one where the guy was out cutting his grass, he came in and saw them then chased them so they could be identified.
Oh well, the house is clean! We have a viewer again this morning, one who came to view about 6 months ago, in fact the first viewers we had. They have now sold and want to come for another look. Fingers crossed please.
HH - You're better off without them.
Sorry, can't remember anything else. Hugs and spoons to all, take care. XX0 -

Morning all!
Well, DS came home last night rather soggy but deliriously happy having been at his first outdoor gig, they all managed to get home in one piece thank goodness, was worth the £40 to see him so happy for a change! He's just got up and has no voice, must have been good!!!
DD and her boyfriend came back for dinner and cooked for me and my brother, then went out to the cinema and must have gone to his mums, so was a quiet night here.
Sun's out just now, but doesn't look too promising so am debating hanging out the washing. Will need to iron some clothes as I have run out of tops to wear, and pop out for some juice as there is not a drop in the house, otherwise nothing planned for the day as yet, will find something to get up to no doubt.
Hope the viewing goes well Camelot, fingers crossed.
Have a good day allRIP Iain

Good morning everyone
Camelot - fingers firmly crossed for the house viewing today
Not much going on here. Waiting for a break in the rain to get some washing dry.
Still tidying our very messy house and sorting out yet more stuff to go to Oxfam or the tip I think I need to get some serious decluttering advice ... or stop DH buying more clutter to replace the stuff I get rid of. If it's cheap, he thinks he must have it and he will not part with books he has read and will not read again. We originally had over 10,000 books, I got rid of 1400 in one go, by completely stocking a new charity book shop, and have been gradually selling or donating others but am sure we are almost back to the original number
Sausage meat balls, Nigel Slater recipe, with stir fried cabbage for dinner. Bacon and eggs for brekkie. Also need to use up some chicken that the ferrets won't eat, that sounds worrying but it tastes fine, they just don't like it. I bought it as an emergency as I couldn't get chunks so bought little slices from Lidl and they won't entertain it. I think it can go in an omelette for tomorrow's lunch.
Sun appears to be coming out so making a run for the washing line before it changes its mind.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for anyone who needs or just wants them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Hi all,
Hopefully a not too busy day today - got the rest of the posters framed and hung up yesterday so our living room is finally finished!
Need to go to Asda and Aldi soon, and pop down to Argos for a printer ink cartridge. It's slightly cheaper in PC World, but I have a £10 Love2Shop voucher from work that I can use in Argos, so will get it from there instead.
Hope you all have a good Sunday, and Camelot - hope the viewing goes well!the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -
Morning all,
Lots of positive vibes and fingers crossed Camelot🙅
Yesterday turned out completely differently than I expected. Dh and ds3 decided to try the Netflix free trial. This is normally £5.99 a month and if it turns out well it means I can completely get rid of Sky which is a hell of a lot more so big savings. They spent the morning doing that in between us all getting the cleaning done.
Ds2 and GF rang to say could they come and cook a roast dinner as they don't have a table. Youngest ds3 decided to invite his GF as well so six for dinner and a house full. Didn't do any of the things I had planned. Made a quick tray of brownies for dessert so by the time all the guest left about 8 Ish I was absolutely shattered:eek:
My athritis was so bad last night I could hardly move, I knew I had overdone it, even though lunch was delish and I do enjoy everyone visiting. So hoping for a much quieter day today.
Have planned to visit my dd and DGS for an hour later as he has just come back off his hols with his dad.
We've also wrote a list of jobs that need doing in the house before Christmas. Mainly decorating the lounge. Our move to the other bedroom will be after Christmas I think. It's got. Walk in shower which is much easier for me at the moment.
Anyway if today goes to plan I am definitely snuggling up with sense and sensibility later:D
Have a good day all xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all
Overdid it yesterday as we had unexpected visitors, so an extra lazy day today.
Hubby is managing to keep on top of the DW & WM and is hanging washing on the line or under the gazebo.
He has to work today, but only for a couple of hours, it'll take him longer to get there and back than it will to do the job when he arrives.
Hugs to Molly, LW & Camelot.
BB, crochet mag, which one do you get? I might ask DD to look for one for me, no point asking hubby, he couldn't tell crochet from car mechanics.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester0 -
Morning all,
Meant to be a nice day here so our bedding is in the wm, will get it hung out today.
OH and I managed to competly empty the bedroom yesterday, all skirting and architrave taken off, rest of the carpet up and joy of joys the horrible Ikea wardrobes which dominated the room have gone :T I cant tell you of the joy I got from taking a hammer to themits all gone to the tip and all thats left in the bedroom is a bed, will be much easier ro work in there I will just drag the matress out every day.
Hopefully OH has managed to get some hooverbags at the boot sale this morning, it is desperate for a hoover all through, One of us can do upstairs and one down, the bathroom also needs a good clean, and dd who has a day off can do her bedroom.
Carbonara for dinner, and we need to pack the ebay parcels that finish today (all doing well !) and list some more items.
Camelot fingers crossed for you lovely xx
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all,
lovely and sunny today, what a shame I did the washing yesterday & finished things off in the tumble
Still appreciating the cleaning & tidying I did yesterday, I seem to have a bit more energy at last, so I'll make the most of it and attack the bedroom later on.
Yesterday I came to the realisation that my washing up bowl needs changing. It still is functional but it's pale pastel blue and time has not been kind to it. It never looks clean as it is quite scarred inside and there is an indelible stain on the bottom - I blame DH's DIY activities - now I need to decide a functional colour from whatever the current offerings are. I t seems strange that such an ordinary item should be subject to 'fashion'.
Camelot, fingers crossed they catch the thieves.
Hugs all roundI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
