If a Billionaire gave away just 10% of his income each year (on the basis that he could scrap by on the 90%) that would be impressive.

If they gave away 90% of their income (on the basis that keeping 10% of the income on a billion is the same as receiving all the income on 100 million) that would get my Man of the Moment Award.

(you see where this is going..)

  • 10 years is quite impressive. He is a paper billionaire, which is only true if he doesnt sell the stock into the market too much

So Nicholas Woodman is a paper billionaire but am sure he as quick access to 100's of $ millions if he went to bank and needed to withdraw that in cash.

BTW anyone know a story of not a paper billionaire who acquired billions in very short time (say under 10 years)?

8 years then, I failed to see that as well but I did skim it. :-)

More than that, I suspect, since that was when he got his first order. It doesn't say how long he'd been working on it before then.
  • There are hundreds. I would say there's a local businessman near me, started with large borrowings and a petrol station at 23 ended up at 35 with a petrol station, hotel, local newsagents, 2 BTLs, a cafe and a taxi firm. Now that's passive income!
