I take it you didn't make a Win 8 recovery disc as advised when upgrading?0

Do you know anyone else with a PC you can use temporarily , with internet access and a DVD burner would be good!
If so , you could download the windows 8.1 preview and boot from that to get to the repair options.

Right got a Windows 8 copy disc,but safe mode is not available in Advanced options as I booted from a copy. Refresh and system restore no joy with them.
Any ideas on how to get into safe mode?0 -
Is there an option to get to a Command Prompt?
If so, you might try Option Five (Using BCDEDIT Command in a Command Prompt) from here:

Edit: this looks similar although seems to work with a {default} parameter which seems simpler

Tried second option,command ok,next step restart as I was booting to disc it loaded to repair screen again.Pressed f2 and changed boot settings and all booted to bsod with critical process died message.Jivesinger wrote: »Is there an option to get to a Command Prompt?
