Confirmed address - no number

I have a buyer on eBay who has purchased a BIN item for £90.00.
The address confirmed by paypal does not have a number. I have googled the address and it appears to be flats, so a number is needed.
I have emailed the buyer to confirm, awaiting a response.
My question is, if she gives me the number, I send and it goes amiss, does the 'number' being supplied after the order negate my seller protection?
Hope this makes sense!

If you are going to send it tracked then to keep fully within Seller Protection you should email the buyer and explain, refund the payment and ask them to pay again ensuring the address is complete.
Do not rely on Google, check the address on the Royal Mail postcode checker.
This is the second time today I have posted on a thread with no housename/number. It is a glitch with some Ebay accounts and the buyer may not be aware.0 -
Thanks for that. I will be sending tracked.
I see another thread has been started, so it looks like a glitch.0 -
I asked live help if there was a glitch in the system at the moment:

I have checked the address of your buyer on the system and the buyer has the same addres, with this, you can post the item to that address and there is nothing to worry as you will stil be covered by the Protection programme. Let me also share that the address you are only obliged to post the item is the address they have on file.

But if you are not confident to send your item, you can send it recorded delivery and you will still be protected as it i s trackable. Or you can contact the buyer so you can have the complete address.
Not my typo's by the way!
So, its ok to send to an incomplete address apparently.0 -

If you learn one thing from being on here or the Ebay boards, it is to NEVER listen to Live Chat.
Recorded Delivery doesn't exist any more and it's replacement, Signed For is just as ineffective.
But try and find your Agent (who no doubt had a very English sounding name) when it goes tit$ up.
If you get no joy from the buyer after 48 hours ring CS (not LC) and report them for having an incomplete address.
I am assuming you have double checked with RM that it is incomplete and are not just relying on Google.
By the way, the 'glitch' has been around for about 7 months.0 -
I see. First time it has happened to me.
I checked the RM website as you suggested and a number is needed.
Will wait to hear back from buyer.
And completely agree with regards to live chat.0 -
I'm sure the buyer will understand and if they don't then you will have to ring CS for any adverse feedback to be removed.
Most buyers would be pleased that you had double checked, as long as the email didn't make it sound like it was their fault.....
Do update with how you get on.0 -
No, just a polite email asking was the address correct or had eBay got it wrong.
The buyer has 0 feedback, but been a member since 2011, so I guess I am dealing with a novice.
Will let you know if/when they respond0 -
If the don't you could use the 'advanced tab' at the top of the right side of the search bar and get the member info. That should send you an immediate email with their phone number one.0

The buyer came back to me with her house number. Happy that I contacted her and appalled that eBay didn't supply the correct address. She will be taking it up with them directly it seems.
I'm just going to send tracked and hope for the best. I think refunding, asking them to amend their address and then pay again might push them over the edge!0 -
Remember RM Signed For(Recorded Delivery) you cannot track......its just for obtaining a signature at point of delivery. It goes through the system with ordinary mail/parcels.0
