The DD should be around £152-160 based on annual figs quoted (dependent on tarif, which hasn't been stated). I suspect that the level of £200 is possible to recover accumulated arrears due to the obvious much higher level of electricity usage?
OP, which BG tariff are you on please?
closed, the boiler is a combi (see OP's earlier post). The DHW is working fine, so possibly a pump issue or sticking divertor valve-hardly terminal.
The most incredible thing about all this is that the OP was informed by a BG 'adviser' that 8,777kWh of gas annually was 4 times the national average, rather than half!No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

But it's BG who advise you of the annual consumption-it's held on their system so that they can send you the obligatory annual statement. No need to add anything up manually yourself. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Worth looking at as a potential reason for the high usage. Your neighbour may be having the heating on full blast, taking long luxurious baths every day and thinking wow our bills are cheap, all at your expense! x
This happens surprisingly often. The problem is that when meters were installed (especially in old buildings and converted flats) they were given an arbitrary house number based on what BG thought was appropriate at the time. This meant that often the address they have for the meter does not correspond to an actual postage address.
My flat was the same. It's in an old tenement and the flats are not numbered but labelled as "ground floor left/1st floor right" etc. British Gas labelled the meters in the building as "A/B/C" etc. - that's ok if your meter is inside your flat but very confusing if it's outside/in the hallway.
I gave my utility company my meter serial number but they couldn't find an exact match in their records - they just picked one at the address and switched it! Then tried to whack me for a £10,000  initial bill due to the discrepancies in the final reading they had from the wrong meter and the first reading I gave them from my meter! It took 3 months to get it sorted, no doubt causing huge disruption to the person who owned the other meter also (I never found out which meter they switched).“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A.
