Advice for Call Credit report

Hi all,

Today is THE day that my last default comes off of my credit report :T

I have a Credit Expert subscription which gives me constant access to their version of my report.

I have just taken a month trial of Equifax giving me the same as Credit Expert.

Call credit appears to be slightly different?
They offer 'free for life' reports which are updated monthly?

Can someone please explain what they offer and how it differs to the other two?

I'm wanting to ensure all my reports are accurate before I attempt a BT CC application....

Thanks everyone :)

"They offer 'free for life' reports which are updated monthly?"

    - This pretty much summarises it and needs no further clarification. Noddle credit reports are free for life and they are updated once a month.

They show the same information as the other two, however, lenders can choose which CRA's they report to - all, some or none - so you need to check all three credit files to get the full picture.

With Noddle, when you log in to view your report, there's a bit that says "Updated:25/07/2013" (or whatever date it was lasted); your report will be updated 30 days after the date shown there.

So if, like me, your report was last updated on 25/07/2013, you can expect the default on your report to drop off on 24/08/2013 if the lender has asked Noddle to remove it.

How come their report is free, when the other two charge a few quid a go?

Probably to try to convince people to use their service over the other two. They still charge for useless 'credit scores.'

Not many lenders actually look at Noddle when you apply for credit, but if your accounts report to Noddle it's handy just to see what they're reporting.

Noddle is massively useful and has saved me money in paying subscriptions to the other CRAs (not for the credit score, just for viewing the report) and also statutory fees. Most companies don't search call credit but just about everyone reports to it so it's still very useful.

Everything that I have credit-wise, past and present has reported to CC except for my BT home broadband. Even my bank overdraft opened years ago reports to it as a "current account mortgage" oddly enough...

@matttye - it's also worth noting that what you said above about Noddle dropping off defaults when the report for the user next updates, that's not strictly true. The report that lenders see will be up to date, it's just that we users don't get a constant update as it's a free service.

    Ahh didn't realise that, thanks!

For all intents and purposes I guess it's the same thing, as it would be risky to apply for credit without seeing what's in your report anyway!
