Good Credit - Bad Address

Can anyone help. My partner has brilliant credit. Got turned down because of his address, something to do with bad or missed payments. He has never missed a payment. It must be someone who used to live there. How can he get this changed

Comments

  • Credit reports are personal and not related to addresses. Your partner should order a copy of his credit reports (NOT scores!) to see what exactly is on them. Some advice here http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/loans/credit-rating-credit-score

Yep no such thing as a bad address, not sure why anyone would think that, we'd all have to move into new builds otherwise.
  • The bank told him today that there is nothing wrong with his credit and asked if anyone at his address had missed any payments???!!!

The bank are talking rubbish. What they may have meant to ask is if anybody he is financially linked to missed any payments.

If he holds any joint accounts with people, then the credit histories of the people he's linked to will have an effect on his own creditworthiness.
