Hi All
I need some feedback please...
So I opened my burger bar/ coffee bar yesterday in a busy town centre. There are so many people passing.
We took £10 the first day and £35 today, that's taken not profit.
Is it too early to worry and look at closing? Everyone has been telling me that it takes time. But I'm quite impatient and feel like I may be wasting time.
Anyone please?

I'd give it a week anyway.
Have you contacted local businesses/shops to make their staff aware where you are? These are the people who would become your regular customers.
A van that used to be near my work took orders via phone and delivered close by - is this an option.
Are burgers from vans even popular nowadays anyway? Can't think of anything less appealing to be honest. Could you offer some healthy salads and low calorie meals to try and bring in the dieters?
Or how about offer an opening promotion - sell a £10 voucher for 5 days worth of sandwich and a drink (or something similar).
What research did you do before opening? Did you buy from someone, in which case, how were their sales?
What hours do you open? Are you open for people going to work in the morning?
Wouldn't look at closing down already but doesn't sound like much research has been done for this venture!0 -
Put an "A" board outside your door with your offers on. Make sure your sign writing is good, but if you are relying on passing trade, I know of one that had set up recently and had a poor footfall. They did some product, cut it into pieces and went outside, offering samples to the passing trade. It might cost you £30, but they took 1 in 6 walkin in, then over a week they started to get trade in.

How about doing £1 filter coffees? Cheap to make, nicer than instant, fast to do in bulk, and will get attention.
Not really been burger weather recently.0
