Boots Opticians

I got a pair of prescription sunglasses made up at Boots recently. I have prisms in both eyes and when i go outside with no glasses on, the ground bounces up and down (yes really lol!).

Havent had much sunny weather, but tried them on a couple of times and thought they were a bit strange, but put it down to them being sunglasses, as you do? Have never worn prescription sunglasses before.

Anyway, very hot sunny day today, put them on, felt very weird. Put on dh's sunglasses (non-prescription) and no difference. So trawled back to Boots, who couldnt test them as they said their machine (for testing the glasses) is broken. Went to the opticians where i get my eyes tested, and the sunglasses are not to my prescription at all.   Took them back to Boots who say they cant do anything til machine is fixed, then they will test them and decide if i can have a refund.

Give them a reasonable time to sort it out, or take them to another branch, perhaps. What is 'reasonable' is probably a little more than would be reasonable for regular prescription glasses, but if the glasses are defective then they must either fix them or refund you. Since they make a ton of profit on glasses, I daresay that they won't choose to refund you, mind.

ZZtopgirl, that's such an annoying thing to have happened. At least Boots are a decent company & I'm sure they'll put things right, not that will help you in the meantime.

Presumably you can get clip on shades to use with your normal glasses?
