Hi,
Is it possible to switch from BT to Sky for a 12 month contract, and after that move back to BT and keep the same number all the while?
Thanks

Yes it is. Assuming you take a Sky LLU service, you will need to do a return to donor after 12m: this is free but requires a 12m line rental contract with BT.
But why would you?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
It's to take advantage of Sky's offer for O2 broadband customers, which includes unlimited broadband and Sky TV and free evening and weekend calls at £14.95 line rental for 12 months.0

Fine then. But why switch back to BT at the end? They're amomng the most expensive providers around, with poor CS. Cut a retention deal and stay with a decent LLU service from Sky.
What you probably won't be able to do is a direct transfer to another LLU provider. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
A Colleague of mine switched from sky to BT for the BT vision package, so phone TV and Broadband. They had to enter the premises to do something and as a result he has had no broadband or sky vision for 2 weeks!!
As has been mentioned, although I am not a BT customer, I did leave BT due to poor CS! which they seem to be living up to! They can't even make an appointment with him at a convenient time!!
So be VERY careful!!0 -
I've just switched from O2 to Sky for the same reason as the OP (12 months free broadband). The broadband worked for 2 weeks and then stopped working, as of tomorrow it will be three weeks I have had no service. Despite numerous calls to Sky including calls to the complaints dept they are no nearer resolution.
I am totally flabbergasted that such a large company can get away which such poor service. I am told that I am not entitled to any compensation but they will refund my rental for the period that I was out of service (which as it's free means that I get nothing back).
As my partner and I both work from home I have had to pay for mobile broadband which to date has cost me around £65 and I am not entitled to claim any of this back from Sky and they will not allow me to cancel the contract so I'm stuck with the for 12 months.0 -
Correct: there is no SLA on any residential contract. Is this is a line issue or a broadband one, as 3 weeks is a long wait for a fault repair? No free lunch, and no free laptop0
