Return a UN-delivered kitchen - lost job

Okay, so i bought a kitchen in November last year from BnQ. I now have lost my job and cannot afford to have it fitted, plus the money i spent would be good for mortgage for a few months.

Im guessing i will have a fight on my hands to get anything back. They have messed me around delivered it 4 or 5 times when not wanted to 3 different addresses. Plus was treat like something on their show when i went in store. (trading standards?)

Any advice, anything to say, just any help i can get would be great! I have many my self ill from worry from this! please help...

to be clear i am still awaiting delivery, was i kept putting it back due to family health. Now this happened...

Thankyou

Craig

Have you approached B&Q yet, and what did they say?

They have messed me around delivered it 4 or 5 times when not wanted to 3 different addresses.

Do you mean they have just turned up unannounced without any prior communication? What were the other addresses?

Plus was treat like something on their show when i went in store. (trading standards?)

I'm not sure what this bit means?

Sounds like OP has been ducking and diving the delivery and it is about to come to a head.

Some better equipped than me will be best to advise you. But your post is a little incoherent.

Careful, because they may decide you should pay for any future delivery attempts. Have you asked them to cancel it and possibly offer to surrender a cancellation charge? If they refuse you don't really have any statutory rights to cancel to be honest.
  • Sorry wrote this on my phone. I haven't approached them yet will tomorrow, just wanted to know if there is anything i should say, ask before hand.

Yes they turned up unannounced, turned up at my girlfriends house (who bought a kitchen at same time, guess that's where they got address from.)

Then delivered it 2 or 3 times to my mums home, even though each time i called and told them it was wrong. This is the address on my trade account at BnQ.

And the other bit is when i went in other week to speak about returning something i bought in error, (paint) the women was talking to me like S!?! basically.

I'm not ducking and diving, bought the house and thought i could have it done a lot quicker, ended up needing new drains, some new floors, ceilings, boiler, just been a nightmare.

Maybe not ducking and diving, but by your own admission you have been putting it off, so it's not really them who have been messing around. It does sound like they are trying to deliver and you are not allowing them to.

It doesn't sound like you you will have any (legal) right to cancel. So being nice and polite is more likely to get you a better outcome than going in and shouting the odds.
  • Yes completely i agree. When buying i told them i dunno when ill be ready for it, said hopefully in a few month. But i did say if it was a year would i be ok and they said yes.

And when they have delivered it, i never knew, asked, or anything for them to do so. It was a error on their part.

You bought it on a tradepoint account so the B2B T&C's relating to ordered kitchens will apply, have you read what the T&C's say.

Your only rights are what your contract says, most items you can return within 45 days but not sure about pre ordered kitchens.
