Just to close this off I just got a Windows 7 laptop as it's less faff. I thought Mac's were supposed to be fool proof but this couldn't be more confusing. Thank you for all of your help though.
Classic built in redundancy! I went to the Apple shop to ask for advice and they told me the best option would be to chuck the laptop and invest in a new one. Invest really was the word when they told me the price!0 -
You're comparing completely different ages of computer. A G4 Mac is ancient, good luck finding a PC of that age with built in WiFi, you certainly won't find one with Windows 7!0
