Mobile phone contracts are a joke the majority now last 24 months, it's like having a 24 month loan for a phone. Crazy
I brought my iPhone 5 cash and use a sim only contract. Sim only is the way forward if your phone makes a call receives and sends messages then just get a sim only best way

OP did you say you have a CIFAS marker on your file?
You need to get this refused post haste by writing to CIFAS and the organisation that logged the entry with CIFAS.
