    pinkdalek offered compensation without being asked. Can't be working for a bank. :)

    It'll be interesting to see what happens when someone with a current account mortgage or offset mortgage asks to transfer their current account banking. Hopefully nothing will be closed or blocked from further usage in most cases.*

    *there can be cases where a bank wants a linked account closed because they don't like some lawful conduct of an account in accord with account terms and conditions, relying on a mortgage contract term that probably doesn't comply with the FCA guidance on what constitutes an unfair contract term. Hopefully much more often would be cases of illegality by the account holder. In such circumstances actual closure might be appropriate, though not of the mortgage.
