Tax Credit backpayment calculation help

Hi all,

I received an amended award notice in December 2012 after my circumstances changed. My credits went up and the letter stated I would be due a potential payment of 998.00 once all earnings info for the year received.

Anyway I called on Monday as still no word with renewal despite being over 10 weeks. I was told by a guy in the payments team that renewal being processed and I should receive a backpayment of around 930.00 as my actual income was 360.00 more than estimated hence the difference.

However today I have received only 730.00 from tax credits. No letter yet however on using calculator for the estimated and actual income, the difference in tax credits would only have been around 70.00 as I was told.

Is there something I am missing here? I will wait for the letters anyway but I was wondering if anything else is taken into account that I do not know about?

Many thanks
