Santander 123 DD

I really have searched for the answer here ....but perhaps my searching skills are wanting!

Just decided to open one of these accounts to hold my soon to be withdrawn (in a fit of pique) Premium Bond holdings and I can't work out if having two DDs set up is enough or do they have to be active.

For the meantime I want to move across two annual membership fees DDs only whilst we finally sort out whether or not we are moving north now or later.

So the question is - are two annual DDs sufficient or not?

They just need to be setup and show in online banking, you don't need to wait until they pay a bill. With an annual DD can you be sure when they will be setup though?

..I'm just completing a transfer of DDs to Santander -I can confirm my two annual DDs have been set up and the old mandates cancelled -even tho' neither is due for payment until next March.
