Do you know Coupon Mad, I've read your very helpful posts for a long time and I'm impressed with the knowledge you have on this subject. I always look out for when you join these type of threads and you knock everything into order in one single post.

But in all that time I assumed you were a grumpy old man!! I'm sorry, absolutely no insult intended! Just shows how we can conjure up absolutely incorrect images in our minds here.

It's been said before, no worries!! :rotfl:

  • Thank you so much for all your helpful advise.

I went to Sainsburys today and spoke to the store manager, who immediately said he would have the parking fine dismissed. He said he wanted to look after his customers, not send them away to a rival.

I am really pleased with the outcome, as I had got myself into a bit of a state about all this.

Anyway, all sorted now, so thank you very much again.

Very pleased that all is sorted out.

What I don't get is why you didn't do that - going to the manager - in the first place. This was early June and you will have been beating yourself up over this for over 2 months.

You are not the only one, of course. Lots and lots of newbies are in the same boat and a page and a half later, the shop gets the ticket cancelled. (Not every time, of course)

It's just something I don't get. To me, it's the most obvious thing to do and I seriously have difficulty in comprehending why everyone else doesn't share my view on this.

I am almost tempted to suggest that the first reply from a regular on new threads should be "Have you tried to sort it out with the manager on the site you got the ticket at?"

Not suitable everywhere of course, but it does seem a sensible first step and an obvious one.

Oh, Dimey - I am a grumpy old man! :rotfl::rotfl:

    Totally agree, let's do that.

Cathpar's thread joins the 'hall of fame' here of successful complaints!

Well done cathpar, next time get angry and complain quicker, not scared of a scam!
