AMI BIOS password scrubber

A colleague asked to scrub the hard drive and dispose of her "old" PC as it kept crashing so she bought a nice new laptop just in time as she left the company yesterday and is relocating a LONG way away.
Got it home, opened the case and couldn't see anything due to the fluff gued in with tobacco glue. The CPU fan was actually encase - no air getting through at all! The fins on the CPU were similarly gunged.
The PSU was also clogged with signs of overheating.
Spent a couple of hours stripping and cleaning, ran IOLO disc scrubber, formatted the HD and reloaded XP Home. It has been running since about 9pm last night with no problems (mind you, I haven't given it a hammering yet!).
FAR too good to take down the tip, so my daughter is getting a "new" PC.
Problem;
When booting it asks for a password. Hit return 3 times and it boots. I can't get into the BIOS to clear it and can't contact the last owner. It's in a Packard Bell imedia 4716.
Anyone used any FREE software to do this before?

Have you tried clearing the CMOS by removing the battery for 2mins?
Looks like a big flat watch battery inside the case.0 -
I did try that. Didn't work.
Someone on another forum said to try "SECURI". Sys Admin password. It works!
Scrubbed all passwords through the BIOS and rebooted. Goes straight to the BIOS screen. Not seen this before as a blank bios usually skips unless F2 is pressed.
Darned annoying!
Searching for a better BIOS update.
I HATE COMPUTERS ..... AND I'VE JUST REALISED I'VE MISSED DR WHO!!!!
