Anyone disputed the amount of overpayment

Has anyone disputed the amount of over payment,

We have a demand for nearly 9 thousand, we know we have been overpayed but not by anywhere near that,

Just wondering how long it all takes to get sorted as buying a house and don't want it to risk that.

If you have an issue with the amount of the overpayment then you need to appeal and not dispute.

If the amount of the overpayment is wrong, that means the award is wrong. Are you able to explain in your appeal which part of the award is wrong?

My daughter has to repay £10 per month till 2020, she rung to ask for a breakdown of the overpayment and was told "we don't do that". Surely that can't be right, if they can make a mistake in the first place, they can make a mistake with the amount they are claiming back.
