LBG were ruthless a while back. Hypocrisy of the highest order. I turned a client away for affordability a while back. Miles out. 2 weeks later after walking into Halifax branch he got fast tracked with no proof of income and the required figure input on the application.
BDM's to this day offering 'advice' on how to best use system.

It annoys me when you "play the game" but the lender's own employees will flout their own rules to process business they shouldn't.

Once again, I'm hijacking a thread - so apologies to xlickle_cutiex, but payslips just made me think of a question.
The payslips that I have are pdfs, which we download and print off ourselves - are these acceptable to mortgage companies ?[STRIKE]DFW Nerd number 729[/STRIKE]Debt Free & Proud0 -

if its your bank providing the mortgage then none
anybody else 3 normally the min
Sorry to hijack the thread further, but how can the bank providing the Mortgage not require payslips, even for existing customers? Payslips can involve overtime, bonuses and all sorts of post-standard pay additions, whereas just the money coming into the account doesn't differentiate any of this so things that can disappear at any second would be used as income evidence...
This is a genuine question not a criticism.0 -

yes Halifax accepted mynDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
If you enter a variable income strand on the application, that triggers a requirement for three payslips, where none or a single one may have been requested only. The system may send the case "fast track" if the LTV and credit score are good. Then there's no docs requirement at all.Sorry to hijack the thread further, but how can the bank providing the Mortgage not require payslips, even for existing customers? I don't like fast track, as we are required to hold all the docs which might be requested anyway, supplying them at the outset is what we're used to doing. Lenders use it to ease their admin/service issues, but then carry out audits to ensure it isn't being abused, when the abuse is more likely in their own branches, as GMS and I alluded to earlier.
We're quite happy to supply everything at the outset. Inconveniencing us and our clients later in the process is an irritation.I am a mortgage broker. I was asked for no payslips or bank statements. This was with Halifax and I completed Wednesday just gone.
They did credit check me at least 4 times though from looking at my report.0
