Hiya I put my mobile number in when i entered comps and i have been recieving phone calls from a debt agency since. I always tick the boxes saying no to marketing but i'm getting up to three a day from each number. I wouldn't mind but i don't have any debts. Do yu think they'll give up if i just don't answer the phone or shall i answer and tell em where to shove it?

I tell them I have no debts & hang up...hopefully they get sick of ringing faster than you do.
PS You might want to edit your title so it says Spam (I think)

Are you getting a real person calling you or is it a robo call?

I was getting PPI robo calls for ages, then one day I listened through to the end and there was a "press _ to stop receiving these phone calls"

Had to do that twice, and it worked! no more phone calls.

  • When they phone next time ask them where they got details from they should give you name of company and ask them to take your details off their database.I did that and it worked they stopped calling.
  • Hi i.ve been getting txt msg's to enter comps by asking me to reply something to there number. Do i get charged for receiving these spam txts? i checked my phonebill this afternoon and everything seems normal so far thankfully. I.m quite scared of these sort of things.

I receive at least three/four marketing calls a week since I started comping. Sometimes three or four a day. This week has mainly been from companies asking about a minor road accident I've never had. The week before it was mainly PPI companies who get quite annoyed when I tell then no and ask me why I don't want free money. They get even more annoyed when I tell them were I owed PPI It wouldn't be free money would it. It would be money I'd already spent out that I'd be getting back.
I always tick the 'do not contact' box etc.

I ask them to take my name of the list. I ask them where they got my number from. They give a vague answer. I ask them not to call again. They ignore me.
