Interesting - but the vast majority of the "blame" for this saga lies with the dealer not Ford. The dealer in this case has not had "glowing reports" on MSE in the past
:D
My daughter had a problem with her Ford Ka. The power steering pump had already been replaced under warranty by dealer "E" (not the supplying dealer) when problems arose again. Dealer E said there was now nothing wrong and also rejected another claim (for a different item) under the warranty.
My daughter then returned to her "neck of the woods" and took the car back to the supplying dealer. She was told that the car was dangerous to be driven in that condition !!! The steering pump (again) and the second item were replaced without quibble.
Within a few weeks the steering was playing up again -she took the car back to the supplying dealer - and also contacted Ford.
The whole of the power steering system was replaced and all hydraulic lines cleaned. They lent her a new Fiesta while this was being done. The car has been perfect ever since.
We never got a full explanation of the problem but it looks like that the system was filled with the wrong hydraulic fluid at the first pump replacement - this contaminated the system for the subsequent pump changes.
Ford and the supplying dealer (Dagenham Motors) behaved impeccably - dealer "E" - a small independent West Country Ford dealer were absolute rubbish !!!!0 -

They should take a view of the manufacturers and dealers responses to the customers problems, which is as far as the issue would have got without the investigative involvementYou scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0 -
Honest Dom the ex car salesman, amongst other thing.0

Dom used to have a programme where he would buy some horrendously damaged car as a write off, fix it up on the cheap, fit a £500 audio system, then tell his client that it was over budget.
As to the iplayer clip, over half of it consisted of Dom telling us that "This is nothing to do with the focus but......"
There will soon be another load of patched up new cars about, VW had another 10,000 damaged by hailstones at Wulfsberg this week .
Apparently, VW have hailstone insurance, bearing in mind last time there were 28,000 damaged I'm surprised anyone will cover them.
Saw some hailstone damage when I was in Germany, the cars looked like someone had attacked them with small hammers.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)
