cavity wall insulation building approval missing ?

Nearing the exchange (most of the work is done ).. But there seems to be a couple of outstanding issues, one of them being cavity wall insulation approval missing.

The company/owners who did it can't be reached because its long back (2000). Current owners(bought it in 2006) didn't know anything about it, but my solicitors approached the council who said they don't have it as it's long back and only way to get is to approach the people who applied for it.. So pretty much confused.

It is actually revealed in our local search, so assuming it is granted but don't know who has the paper work to read & verify.

Ignore this and proceed purchase ?!

Any advise please?

I've never known building regs being needed for CWI. Had this done a couple of years ago and certainly no building regs approval was sought.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Not needed! And as it was 13 years ago, current building regs are not applicable.

When we had it done on our last property - we were given a ciga certificate. Which guranteed the insullation for 25 years - maybe this is what you're/they're thinking of...

just to emphasise from their website:

CIGA also operates and administers the Cavity Wall Insulation Self Certification scheme (CWISC) in association with the British Board of Agr!ment. The scheme provides homeowners with the comfort of knowing that work by registered contractors complies with the requirements of the Building regulations. Further details and a list of CIGA members who are also registered under CWISC is available on the dedicated CWISC website...

Maybe give them a ring see if the property is covered / lost certificate..?
