Fibre broadband without phone?

Are there any providers which will supply a fibre line without the phone connected?
I really don't use the landline any more. I know that with the old DSL setup the phone and broadband are tied, but is this still the case?
Apologies if this is a stupid question!
Alternatively, is there any objection from suppliers to using something like the £5.99 Primus service with an unlimited fibre BB from another provider?

Virgin are the only ones that can supply broadband without a landline.
BT Fibre still comes down the phone line, it just has fibre to the cabinet0 -
Often wondered why you need to buy a telephone service as well, bit like having to buy a camel with a new car...Be happy...;)0

because the technology works via the phone line. if you dont have one, how else can you get it ?0

That may well be the case, but the line rental does not just pay for the physical connection (I am aware that "fibre" in reality is VDSL). There's no real reason to be paying for the phone side when you're already paying for the service on the same line.
Anyway, thanks for the confirmation re the line rental -- so can I allowed to mix Primus with, say, Plusnet?0 -
Your broadband fee pays for the connection from your ISP to the internet. Your line rental pays for connecting you to your ISP. Two very different things.
Plusnet does not offer a standalone broadband service. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Well, they do, because their website allows you to select it.
And I reject your other comment on the grounds that I worked for a public sector ISP who buys in VDSL lines from BT -- no "line rental" is paid, the wholesale charge is end-to-end.0 -

There are some sub loop unbundler Providers who only rent the 'd' side loop from OR that's the cable from the cab to the end users property, they if they wanted they could sell a data only connection to their end user, but most providers are either WLR or LLU providers, WLR is going to have telephony regardless , dont want it, don't plug a phone in, LLU /MPF providers are not forced by OR to put telephony on the circuit, but Sky, TT etc provide broadband and telephony, so any calls made they get the revenue...don't want the phone side, again just don't plug a phone in,
you may expect to pay less for a broadband only line, but why ?, the copper pair costs the same to rent, regardless of what's delivered over it, think of the telephony as a free add on, with your broadband,0 -
Virgin offer fibre BB without a phone line.
However, when I recently enquired about removing the phone line from my service to just have BB, they offered me a rate of £5 less to keep both than to have BB alone.0
