My sister and deceased husband

Options
Hi chaps during a chat with my sister she asked if there was any way she might have a ppi claim, she is desperately poor, works every hour on minimum wage in a nursing home, spends any money she has keeping her very small but crumbling house up together or on her 5 kids and many grandchildren ... her husband died several years ago and he handled all the money business so she doesn't know if he ever got any loans with or without ppi ... is there a simple process she can use to establish if she has a claim or anything I can do to help ... so grateful to anyone with any advice.

many thanks Roger

She can phone and ask the banks if they did, or he did, or she cansend a SAR and £10 to each bank and see what info they come back with. If eh is deceased she will have to show that she can complain on his behalf and send SARs on his behalf.

Did eh not have life insurance on the house?

There is no simple way I'm afraid, you would need some info (names of lenders, account numbers etc) before you could do anything. Then you'd need to establish if any loans etc even had PPI. Then you'd need to show that the PPI was unsuitable and somehow mis-sold.

Thanks for that taff ... I'll let her know. On the house front, they lived in a council house until more recently our parents died and left her their tumble down cottage which has turned into a money pit.

Also thanks SC - I'll try and get her to do a bit of digging ...
